Parents on Fire is a parent-led organization which encourages parent involvement through volunteer opportunities that support Holy Family students, families, and faculty.

Parents on Fire events include:

 

  • Grade-level parent gatherings

  • Ninth Grade Homecoming Dinner  (pictured above)

  • The Father/Daughter Dance

  • A Mother/Son Activity

  • Teacher/Staff Appreciation Days

  • Educational Parent Speakers

  • Many Other School-Sponsored Events

The period of adolescence can be a daunting time for parents! Through the use of stories and examples, Dr. Marzouk will discuss some of the most problematic myths regarding the teenage years.  Dr. Marzouk will then present each myth's "flip side" by unpacking pertinent truths about adolescence relevant to parents and caregivers

    Teens, Depression, and Self-Harm: What Every Parent Should Know

    In this presentation, Dr. Marzouk will discuss and differentiate between normal adolescent mood fluctuations and clinically significant depression.  Dr. Marzouk will discuss common signs parents can look for and how parents can respond to such symptoms.  Finally, time will be spent demystifying non-suicidal self-injurious behavior (e.g., cutting) and discussing with parents how to respond to this frightening behavior.
