Trap

Ava aiming to shoot

The Fire Trap Team participates in the fall league of the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League and the spring league which culminates in the Minnesota State Trap Shooting Championships.

Trap Shooting athletes get to enjoy two seasons; spring and fall. The fall season lasts for six weeks on from mid-September through mid-October. This is a more laid back season, compared to the spring season which has the Alexandria State Tournament in mid-June. During the fall, the team gets to enjoy the great outdoors and brush up their skills for hunting season. The fall team practices on Tuesday afternoons at Watertown Rod and Gun Club, the same location as the spring season.

The Fire Trap Team took sixth place in the 2015 state tournament. In 2015 alone, there were 425 schools competing in Minnesota.

All participants must have completed MN DNR Firearm Safety before they can participate. Our coach to participant ratio is 1:4.
