Fencing
The Holy Family Fencing team started in 2009 and is considered a club sport in Minnesota.
This organization is overseen by the Minnesota High School Fencing Coaches Association. The Fencing club competes with other high school teams in Minnesota as well as year-round fencing clubs with no high school affiliation.
Fire Fencing typically competes in tournaments where fencers compete as individuals against competitors from other schools from all over the Minnesota area about six times a season. These tournaments take place in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Rochester each year.
The Fire Fencing season finishes with two State Tournament competitions. Many fencers compete in tournaments outside the regular high school season around Minnesota and out-state in North Dakota, Nebraska, California, and Oregon. Our most regular competition comes from Blake High School, St. Paul Academy, Twin Cities Fencing Club, Center for Blade Arts, and Rochester STEM Academy. Fencers participating outside the high school schedule are all-ages, presenting high school fencers with opponents who have many more years of experience.
