Connor Wilkie Named Head Football Coach

Wilkie joins Holy Family from Augsburg University, where he has served as an assistant coach.

A former collegiate wide receiver at Southwest Minnesota State University, he has also coached at Minnetonka and Anoka-Hennepin, bringing a wealth of experience in player development and game strategy. Coaching runs deep in his family—his father spent 18 years leading the Andover High School football program.

Known for his high-energy coaching style and commitment to respect, a positive attitude, relentless effort, enthusiasm, and fundamentals, Wilkie is eager to build upon the recent successes of the Fire football program. Over the past two seasons, Holy Family has transformed from a struggling team to a state competitor, achieving an impressive 8-3 overall record in the 2024 season, including a 4-0 section record and a 3-0 conference record. Hall of Fame coaches Dave Nelson and Jeff Ferguson will return to coach alongside Coach Wilkie this fall.

Coach Wilkie shared his enthusiasm for joining the Fire football program: “I am incredibly excited to be the next head football coach at Holy Family. This program has made remarkable strides over the past two seasons, going from a rebuilding phase to a true contender. My focus is on sustaining that progress by emphasizing discipline, relentless effort, and a team-first mentality. We have a strong foundation, and I’m eager to work with these athletes and coaches to push our program even further.”

Wilkie will begin working with players and staff immediately as preparations begin for the upcoming season. A formal introduction event will be announced soon, allowing players and parents to meet Coach Wilkie and hear more about his plans for the program.
