Holy Family Track and Field Caps Record-Setting State Run.

Holy Family Catholic High School Track and Field closed the season with a standout performance at the MSHSL Class AA State Track and Field Meet, highlighted by State podium finishes, school records, and one of the strongest postseason runs in program history.

Leading the way was Jacob Orina, who delivered two of the top sprint performances in Holy Family history. Orina placed third in the 100M dash with a time of 10.78, setting a new school record. He followed with another third-place finish and another school record in the 200M dash, running 21.94.

Orina’s State performance capped a dominant postseason. At the Section 6AA Meet, he won both the 100M and 200M dash, qualifying for State in both events and setting the tone for a big finish on the state stage.

Luke Tyson Places Third in High Jump

Luke Tyson also brought home a third-place State finish for the Fire, clearing 6’6” in the high jump.

Tyson entered State after a record-setting Section 6AA performance, where he cleared 6’6.25” to win the section championship and set both a Section 6AA record and a Holy Family school record.

His State podium finish completed an outstanding postseason and gave Holy Family another top-three result at the Class AA State Meet.

Breck Neubauer Caps Strong Postseason Run

Breck Neubauer also represented Holy Family at State, competing in the 200M prelims after qualifying out of Section 6AA.

Neubauer earned his State berth with a third-place finish in the 200M dash at sections, running 22.54. He was also part of Holy Family’s record-setting 4x100 relay team and played a key role in one of the Fire’s strongest postseason event groups.

His State appearance capped a strong all-around postseason and added to a memorable finish for Holy Family Track and Field.

Boys 4x100 Relay Makes a Statement

The boys 4x100 relay team of Damian Komtangi, Jacob Orina, Max Simpson, and Breck Neubauer delivered one of the fastest relay performances in Holy Family history.

At the Section 6AA Meet, the group won the section championship in 42.26, setting both a school record and a section record while qualifying for the MSHSL Class AA State Meet.

At State, the relay team went even faster in the prelims, running 42.02 to set a new school and section record and advance with the fastest qualifying time.

The final did not unfold the way the group hoped after a baton exchange issue kept the Fire from the finish they were chasing. Still, the relay team’s postseason run was a remarkable achievement and a clear statement for Holy Family Track and Field.

Section 6AA Success Sets the Stage

Holy Family’s State Tournament success was built on a strong Section 6AA Meet, where the Fire produced champions, records, State qualifiers, and several podium finishes.

• Jacob Orina: Section champion in the 100M dash and 200M dash
• Luke Tyson: Section champion in high jump, 6’6.25”, school and section record
• Boys 4x100 Relay: Section champions, 42.26, school and section record
• Breck Neubauer: Third place in the 200M dash, 22.54, State qualifier

Holy Family also had a wide range of podium finishers across sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, and relays, reflecting the depth and growth of the program.

Academic Recognition

Holy Family Track and Field also had several student-athletes earn All-State Academic recognition, including Lauren Ferguson, Taryn Richter, Kayla Maloney, Alycia Woerdehoff, Breck Neubauer, and Luke Tyson.

The recognition reflects the balance Holy Family student-athletes continue to pursue across competition, academics, and leadership.

A Season Worth Celebrating

From section championships to State podium finishes, Holy Family Track and Field delivered a postseason filled with breakthrough performances.

Jacob Orina’s two third-place finishes and two school records, Luke Tyson’s third-place high jump finish, Breck Neubauer’s State qualification, and the boys 4x100 relay team’s record-setting run gave Holy Family plenty to celebrate and even more to build on.
