The Holy Family Catholic girls golf team capped off another standout season on one of Minnesota’s biggest stages, placing third as a team at the MSHSL Class AA State Tournament with a two-day score of 650.

After winning the Section 2AA Championship and returning to State as section champions, the Fire proved they belonged among Minnesota’s best. Holy Family’s third-place finish highlighted the program’s consistency, depth, and ability to perform under pressure at the state level.

Sophomore Keira Schuster led the way for the Fire with an incredible individual performance, tying for third overall with a two-day score of 149. Schuster’s State finish capped a postseason run that also included the individual Section 2AA championship.

Maggie Hoffer also delivered a strong State Tournament performance, finishing 19th individually with a score of 163.

From Section Champions to State Contenders

Holy Family entered the State Tournament after a dominant performance at the Section 2AA Championships. The Fire claimed the team title by 47 strokes and placed five golfers among the tournament’s top 10 finishers.

At sections, Holy Family opened with a strong first-round score of 325 at New Prague Golf Club, building a 22-stroke lead over Jordan. The Fire improved in Round 2, posting a tournament-best 321 to finish with a two-day total of 646.

Schuster captured the individual Section 2AA championship with rounds of 77 and 72 for a two-day total of 149, finishing eight strokes ahead of the field.

Joining Schuster near the top of the section leaderboard were several Fire teammates. Junior Eastyn Cizek earned a fourth-place finish with a 165, while freshman Maggie Hoffer finished fifth overall at 166 after sharing the first-round lead with Schuster.

Junior Elin Bocks placed eighth with a two-day score of 171, and sophomore Reese Davies finished 10th overall at 174 after improving six strokes in the second round. Sophomore AJ Jastrow rounded out the Fire lineup with a two-day total of 196.

Boys Golf Represents Holy Family at State

Holy Family boys golf was also represented at the MSHSL Class AA State Tournament by three individual qualifiers: Ryder Carlson, Greyley Swenson, and Riley Doyle.

Carlson finished tied for seventh overall with a two-day score of 146, while Swenson placed ninth with a 147. Doyle finished tied for 44th with a score of 156.

The boys advanced to State after a strong Section 2AA performance, where Carlson, Swenson, and Doyle qualified as individuals. Carlson led Holy Family at sections with a third-place finish, while Swenson placed sixth and Doyle tied for seventh to secure his State Tournament berth.

Holy Family’s golf success this season was built on depth, consistency, and steady development across both programs.

The girls team’s third-place State finish, Schuster’s top-three individual result, Hoffer’s top-20 finish, and the boys’ three individual State qualifiers reflect the strength of Holy Family athletics and the commitment of student-athletes who continue to compete at a high level.
