DECA Shines in District 4 Competition
Holy Family DECA made an unforgettable debut at its first-ever District 4 Competition this weekend, boldly announcing its arrival to the state DECA community.
Holy Family DECA won the prestigious DECA Cup—a District competition where schools face off in an Olympics-style format. Unlike traditional athletic events, DECA Cup events test skill and strategy, making Holy Family’s victory even more impressive.
Competing in District 4, one of seven DECA Districts in Minnesota, Holy Family stood out among some of the largest public schools, including Maple Grove, Elk River, Coon Rapids, Anoka, and Rogers. Out of 513 total competitors, Holy Family brought 79 students, 50 of whom advanced to the state competition—a remarkable achievement for a new team.
Standout Performances:
- Zack Sevcik: Awarded a medal for placing in the Top 25 of all scorers in the written exam portion of the weekend.
- Reagan Oster: Received 2nd place overall trophies in two different competitions.
- Alex Davis: Earned 3rd place overall trophies in two different competitions.
- Carson Ehlers: Placed in the Top 5 in two different competitions.
- Grace Anseth: Advanced to State in two different events and was recognized on stage.
- Jacob Clifford, Hannah Henderson, and team Katie Rothstein-Sophia Terris finished first in their events.
These accomplishments highlight the strength of our students and the exceptional education they receive at Holy Family.

From Robb Richter, Holy Family DECA advisor and business program instructor:
“HF’s inaugural DECA year has been one of learning as we go and commitment. This past weekend, our students showed up and made some heads turn. The successful result of having 50 students qualify for DECA State is simply amazing. It shows the strength of their HF education as a backbone and the impact of our HF community of mentors and volunteers.”
