Friedli Named Boys Hockey Head Coach
Holy Family Catholic High School proudly announces the hiring of Zack Friedli as the new head coach of Holy Family Boys Hockey. With a stellar coaching record and a passion for developing athletes and individuals, Friedli brings an impressive array of experience and expertise to Holy Family.
Friedli's coaching journey spans seven years in Minnesota and includes significant achievements and contributions to the hockey community. Notably, his tenure as associate head coach of Chanhassen High School's boys varsity team saw remarkable success, including the program's first MSHSL State Tournament berth in 2024, a historic playoff win in 2023, and an outstanding 81 percent win percentage over three seasons.
Reflecting on his coaching philosophy, Friedli emphasizes the importance of student-athlete development, both on and off the ice. "High school hockey in Minnesota is something about which I care deeply. As the head coach of the boy's program at Holy Family, I am confident I can help the players develop on the ice, prepare the team to play the right way, and manage the program so that the larger Holy Family, Victoria, and surrounding communities can be proud."
Friedli has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and player advancement throughout his coaching career. As an advocate for players seeking collegiate opportunities, he has played a pivotal role in guiding athletes toward their aspirations beyond high school hockey, including NHL draft picks, Division 1 student-athletes, and USHL, BCHL, and NAHL junior leagues. As the new head coach of Holy Family boys hockey, Friedli is poised to build upon the program's rich legacy while fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and community pride. Coach Friedli will host his first player/parent meeting on Wednesday, April 10, at 5:30 p.m. at Holy Family.
