Empowering Learning with the Holy Family 1:1 MacBook Program

Beginning with the Class of 20230, every incoming ninth-grade student receives a MacBook Air laptop to support creativity, collaboration, and academic success. Our 1:1 MacBook Lease Program enhances learning by providing technology as a purposeful tool—used strategically to strengthen understanding—while students continue to engage in rich instruction and meaningful experiences beyond the computer screen.

Students receive their computers and technology training during Fire Academy, our ninth-grade orientation. At that time, they will learn how to access and use their computer. They will also practice navigating our school’s email, homework, and grade-tracking software.

In addition to the 1:1 MacBook Lease Program, Holy Family provides each student with a school-based Google account, which includes Gmail, Google Drive, and collaborative tools such as Docs and Slides. Students and families also use platforms such as Schoology for coursework and grades, Blackbaud for student records, Minga for campus management, and Clever for single sign-on access to all tools.

Highlights of the 1:1 Program

  • All Students on the Same Device: Teachers can deliver lessons knowing every student has the same apps and tools.

  • Managed Learning Environment: Teachers can minimize distractions and guide students effectively.

  • Near-Zero Downtime: On-campus repairs and tech support are quick, so students stay engaged in learning.

Holy Family 1:1 MacBook Program Information

Lease Program Basics

Annual Lease: A $400 annual lease includes a MacBook Air with an M4+ chip or newer, a charger, an HF-branded protective case, AppleCare, and all licensed apps.

Tech Management: Holy Family manages all software and updates, content filtering, and tech support. Our onsite tech support ensures minimal downtime for repairs. It eliminates the need for families to schedule appointments at an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider after school hours.

Repairs Covered: AppleCare protects families from costly repairs and inconvenient trips to repair centers. It covers a complete replacement twice in a calendar year, if necessary.

Classes 2029, 2028, and 2027 will remain on the Bring Your Own Device program, including transfers into those grades. Details can be found here.
