U. S. Military Service ActThe US Military Service Act is the federal law that requires all males 18-25 to be registered for the United States Armed Forces. The registration process provides the Selective Services with a current address. Though we do not currently have an active draft, all young men must still register as a preparation for the possibility of a national emergency. Failure to register is punishable by a fine, imprisonment, or both. Registration is a prerequisite for obtaining college financial aid, loans, and Pell Grants.
