12th Annual Spirit of Fire Dinner Auction

The Spirit of Fire Dinner Auction was celebrated on November 5, 2011 and raised $205,000 in net proceeds for Holy Family! This surpassed the $190,000 budgeted goal set for the event. The “All That Jazz” theme once again made for a festive backdrop for the 500 guests to enjoy.

Why has the Spirit of Fire Dinner Auction been such a success over the years?

Our success hinges on three variables: dedicated volunteers, gracious donors/sponsors, and generous bidders. Holy Family has been blessed by all three.  A trifecta! And in addition, hundreds of members of our community have FUN while supporting the auction. A few HF alumni students even returned to their alma mater to volunteer in the New Orleans street fair as characters -- from a mime to a puppeteer. They provided many chuckles for our guests. The sign-ups for the great gathering parties were at the hub of the social in Burke O’Briens, providing the opportunity for friends to connect, and future friends to meet, while strategizing what parties to attend.

Once the social moved from the silent auction level to the live auction program and dinner, the energy in the room intensified.  D’Amico Catering provided sumptuous food and the HF Jazz Band and Voices of Fire provided lively entertainment for our guests to enjoy before rolling into the lively fund-a-need and live auction bidding. Additional excitement was infused into the evening when John Radick presented a $50,000 corporate gift from Strom Engineering to our President/Principal Kathie Brown, in support of Holy Family's technology initiatives. (This $50,000 donation is in addition to the $205,000 net proceeds  stated above).

Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers, donors, sponsors and bidders for making the evening a great success! You have all blessed this school community.
