Senior Standouts
Life-size cardboard cutouts

Once again, this year's senior class will be having life-size cardboard cutouts representing each senior class member. These will be created by the seniors and their parents by decorating and personalizing a pre-cut cardboard "standout." These decorated standouts will line the halls of Holy Family for the week prior to the graduation ceremony and be on display for families at the ceremony as well. The standouts are then taken home and often shown at seniors' open houses. It's fun, easy and we hope it becomes a great new tradition at Holy Family!

Instructions (and they'll come with very simple directions, too):

   1. In attempt to make things easier, parent volunteers will be taking photo snapshots of your child's face and having them sized to just the correct dimensions for the standout.  Volunteers will be at school on April 13 and 15th and will make sure eveyone's picture is taken.  You may use this snapshot or one of your one.
   2. Pick up a cardboard cutout body. See schedule below.
   3. Attach the head to the cardboard body. Write your student's name and phone number on the back.
   4. Decorate the standout to represent your student. Remember, the standouts are not a surprise, so get your senior involved! You may use paint, clothing, photos, props, or anything else to highlight past interests or future plans. Please keep in mind that if using heavier clothing items, such as jeans, you will want to cut at the side seams, using only the front to staple or duct tape to your cutout. If props are desired, consider blowing up digital photographs of items such as shoes, pets, electronic equipment or sporting gear that can then be taped, glued, or stapled to your standout. By keeping weight down, the standouts are more likely to remain taped to the walls. Please do not feel like this needs to be complicated. It can be as simple as attaching a pair of shorts, shoes and their future college t-shirt. Again, get your senior involved because it represents them.
   5. Drop off finished standout at Holy Family on Wednesday, May5, 2010, before classes at 7-7:15am and later that day, between 4:30-6:30 PM.  If that day doesn't work, go ahead and bring it to the school office and they will make sure we get.  Please do not drop it off before May 5.  Please take your standout with you after the graduation ceremony.

Pick-up dates (cardboard cut-outs):  Sat, April 17, 2010 from 9-11am, & Mon, April 19, 2010 2-4:30pm

Drop-Off date (finished standouts):  Wednesday, May 5, 2010 before classes or from 4:30-6:30 pm
