High School Placement Tests
January 19, 2019
Placement Tests for prospective ninth grader students will be administered at 8:00 a.m. This is not an entrance exam; it is a testing that allows Holy Family to place students in a course level where they can experience success. For students with an enrollment application on file there is no charge. All other students will be charged a $25 fee for the Placement Exam, and students should plan on arriving by 7:50 am. Students do not need calculators for this exam. Pre-registration is preferred but not required. Read our blog post about our placement tests.
Math Placement Test
If you are an incoming 9th grade student and registering for any course above Algebra 1 (such as Geometry, Honors Geometry, or Honors Algebra II), then you must take a mathematics placement test. In order to take the placement test, you must either be a current student or have a completed application for enrollment on file. Students enrolling for the 2019-2020 school year math placement test date is on June 1 or June 7. Students who enrolled after this date or missed the testing dates may schedule their tests with our school office at email@example.com.
Prior to the math placement test, Holy Family offers math review sessions. For some answers to frequently asked questions regarding math at Holy Family and the June math placement test, click here.
World Language Placement Tests
If you are an incoming 9th grader and registering for any course above the first level of a foreign language, then you must take a world language placement test. Language tests may be scheduled in the late spring through the school office at (952) 443-4659. In order to take the placement test, you must either be a current student or have a completed application for enrollment on file.
