Holy Family has one of the best high school girls soccer programs Minnesota has to offer. The team is coached by Andy Witchger and his assistant coaches Cassie Phillips and Ashley Kirkpatrick. This team is focused on hard work and determination. They are a part of the Wright County Conference and of Section 6A. The team practices every day after school with games on weekdays and also on weekends.
Numerous Fire girls soccer players have received all-conference, all-section, and All-State awards. Alumni continue to play in D1 programs such as Northern Illinois University and Bucknell University.
Coach Witchger coached six years for Edina Soccer Club, winning back to back U-17 and U-18 Boys Premier Level State and League Championships, two years as an assistant coach at St. John’s University, including a NCAA tournament appearance, and six of his nine years as a coach with Holy Family boys program were at varsity level. As a player he was captain of Edina High School’s back to back state championship teams and a captain, all-MIAC, and All-Region player for St. John’s University. He teaches theology and advises the school newspaper at Holy Family.
