Fire Football offers athletes interested in the game of football an opportunity to be a part of a successful Minnesota State High School League. Beginning with freshman year, athletes with varying levels of abilities gain valuable knowledge and game experience before moving to the varsity program for their sophomore through senior years.
Holy Family Fire Football has made multiple state appearances including two title games and victories in sections and conference. Individual players have received All-Conference, All-Section, Star Tribune Prep Athlete of the Week, and individual and team Academic All-State awards.
Several Fire Football alumni continue to receive college scholarships from Division 1 programs such as the University of Minnesota, Drake University, University of Dayton, and St. Cloud State University as well as several members playing on prestigious D2 and D3 programs including national champions, University of St. Thomas.
Coach Triplett comes to Holy Family with 12 years of college football coaching experience, at Division I, II, and II levels, most recently as an assistant coach for Glenn Caruso at the University of St. Thomas.
In addition to his four years at UST, Triplett’s coaching resume includes football programs at several D1, D2, and D3 Programs: University of South Dakota (2010-2014), South Dakota State University in Brookings (2009), Wayne State University (2007 and 2008), and Cornell College in Iowa (2006).
For Triplett, the son of former University of South Dakota Head Coach Dave Triplett, family and football have intertwined throughout his life. Dave Triplett served as the head football coach at USD from 1979-1988, leaving as the second-winningest coach in school history, and was a 2003 inductee into the University’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Tim, along with his two brothers, all went on to play football collegiately.
