2021-2022 COVID-19 Resource Page
Holy Family has established the following protocols for the 2021-22 school year in accordance with the most recent guidance received from the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Our number one priority remains to keep our students, faculty, and staff safe while providing an in-person learning model vital to our students’ academic, spiritual, social, and emotional development.
Our COVID-19 response team will continue to work closely with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to monitor case data in and around our community to ensure our students’ safest possible learning environment. If case numbers begin to pose a significant threat to our community, or if government agencies enact new mandates, some portions of this plan may change. As we have done in the past, Holy Family will communicate clearly and timely with our parents, guardians, and students when circumstances evolve.
Testing is available at Holy Family! Nurse Sarah has COVID rapid tests available in her office. She is available 11:30am-3:15pm Monday through Friday to administer tests to students.
2021-22 LEARNING MODEL
All students will be expected to learn in-person, on campus, each day.
Synchronous online school will only be available to students who are in isolation or quarantine due to COVID-19 related circumstances. In these instances, parents/guardians must communicate with the school as expediently as possible to ensure continuity with, and minimal disruption to, their student’s academic experience.
Online school will not be available to students who are absent for reasons including, but not limited to, vacation, college visits, family events, mild illness, injuries, etc. In these instances, students should follow the handbook guidelines for absences and missed work.
ISOLATION/QUARANTINE PROCEDURES & EXPECTATIONS
Isolation: Students in isolation due to testing positive for COVID-19 will have access to our online synchronous education model and will be expected to participate fully should health circumstances permit. As of January 2022 per the changes to the CDC guidelines, students who test positive for COVID-19 may resume in-person learning after 5 days with wearing a mask in public for the following 5 days as long as there are no symptoms. Students who do not want to wear a mask for the 5 days or will not wear it correctly are invited to isolate for the entire 10 days.
Quarantine Due to Close Contact: For those identified as close contacts and, therefore, quarantining, the guidelines have not changed. Those not fully vaccinated should quarantine for 7 days with a negative test after 5 days of exposure. Masks should be worn after exposure for 10 days.
Students and adults are welcome to wear masks if they are unvaccinated or uncomfortable for any reason, however, masks WILL NOT be required to be worn by individuals while inside the school building.
Students must stay home if they suspect they have any of the following symptoms:
- Temperature over 100.4 degrees
- Excessive coughing
- Severe headache
- Sore throat
- Severe muscle pain
- Loss of taste or smell
- Shortness of breath
Parents and guardians must notify Holy Family if their student:
- Has tested positive for COVID-19
- Is quarantining due to possible COVID-19 exposure
- Is awaiting COVID-19 test results
- Has flu-like symptoms
Holy Family athletic teams will follow the guidance, rules, and regulations of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). Updates will be shared with athletes as information becomes available.
